HOW TO CLEAN YOUR NOTEBOOK

Cleaning the notebook is a fundamental act to keep the device working in full condition. After all, maintaining a good hygiene practice allows the components of the laptop to be able to deliver the expected performance of the machine. In this text, you will learn how to clean your notebook through a series of simple and practical tips and recommendations. Follow !

THE IMPORTANCE OF CLEANING YOUR NOTEBOOK

Cleaning the notebook is an essential task to ensure its full functioning and to keep your work, study and leisure space healthy. In addition, periodic cleaning will contribute to increasing the useful life of a series of components, as it prevents problems caused by dirt and impurity accumulation from affecting these items. Therefore, your device as a whole ends up being benefited.

WHEN TO CLEAN AND HOW TO CLEAN THE NOTEBOOK

Notebook cleaning should be carried out from time to time to ensure that the components that make up the device continue to function at full capacity. There is no correct interval, but it is possible to establish a period from month to month, for example. Or else every two weeks if you notice that some components tend to accumulate more dirt. We have such noticeable cases as the screen and the keyboard, for example. To learn how to clean your notebook, follow our instructions. We will divide the cleaning into two sessions: the internal and external cleaning of the device.

INTERNAL CLEANING

When we refer to internal cleaning of the portable computer, we are referring, of course, to the items that are inside the device. Below, we’ll list some of them and teach you how to specifically clean each of these components of your machine.

HOW TO GENERALLY CLEAN THE INTERNAL STRUCTURE OF THE NOTEBOOK

Internal cleaning is a little more complex, as it will require the user to be able to remove the notebook’s protections, requiring extra care, as this process may require unscrewing these structures, among other measures. The first recommendation, before starting: turn off the laptop. As obvious as it may seem, this measure will ensure the safety of the procedure.

Then perform the opening of the notebook. If in doubt, contact the manufacturer. Some brands have so-called “service manuals” as part of their laptop documentation on the Internet. The documents guide users and technicians through the process of opening the machine.

The general cleaning part itself is quite simple: it consists of just removing dust. In that sense, locate areas of dust concentration on the cover you just removed – usually near the air vents and in the space where the fans spin when the computer is in use. You can use a dry brush to remove dust.

HOW TO CLEAN THE COOLER

The notebook cooler is an important component that helps in cooling the device. Thus, it is essential that it does not have to deal with dust accumulation in order to function at its fullest. To indicate how the correct cleaning of the cooler should be, we prepared a quick step by step. In the process, you will need two elements: 1 Phillips screwdriver and 1 brush.

Step 1:  The first step will be, logically, to turn off the device. You must also remove the battery to avoid any incident during the procedure.
Step 2:  After disconnecting the battery, it is necessary to locate the cooler. This will normally be found on the back of the device, but this can vary by notebook model.
Step 3 : Locating the cooler, it’s time to start the cooler cleaning process. To do so, remove the screws from the cover located on the item. In most cases, these structures have other fittings in addition to screws. Pay close attention when removing the cover, and be careful not to damage any other components.
step 4: With the cover removed, it will be easy to find the notebook cooler. You should start by removing the item by locating the screws that hold the component to the machine. When you find these screws, carefully remove them all.
Step 5  : To clean the fan, you can use a brush or even compressed air.

Step 6:  Finally, after removing all the dust from the component, you can check if the fan blade is turning normally. If it is binding or making noise because of an obstruction in the engine, you can rebuild it.

Plus:  If during the process, you noticed that the thermal paste applied to your notebook is already dry, it is also possible to clean the area and then reapply a new layer in place.

HOW TO CLEAN THE FLAT CABLE

The flar cable is responsible for connecting electronic devices such as  screens  and  keyboards , among others, to the machine’s motherboard. To clean the component correctly, it is necessary to go through some steps.

The first step to start the cleaning process is to remove the screen (or other component that has the flat cable) from the portable computer. After removing and disconnecting the cable, you must apply the specific spray directly on the connector. This spray can be purchased at stores specializing in notebook maintenance products. Right after application, it is recommended to use a brush to spread the liquid on the component or, then, wait a few minutes for the spray to be able to clean on its own and then dry on its own. When you notice that the surface is dry, plug the cable back into your device.

After applying the spray and reinstalling the component, wait a while before turning on the notebook again. 15 minutes will be enough. Respecting this period, turn on the machine. Your flat cable has been cleaned successfully.

EXTERNAL CLEANING

In external cleaning, the main components covered are the screen and keyboard. Learn how to properly clean these components.

HOW TO CLEAN THE SCREEN

To clean your notebook screen, I use soft, clean cloths. Gently wipe across the screen to remove dust. Another option is to use a new brush with very soft bristles. Be careful when using products to clean the screen. Avoid alcohol, detergents and degreasers. If the screen is very dirty, ask for product recommendations at specialized computer stores. Under no circumstances apply liquids directly to the screen.

HOW TO CLEAN THE KEYBOARD

The keyboard is usually the part of the notebook that collects the most dust and small dirt. In this way, it is essential not to consume food and drinks when you are close to the notebook. In addition to being an unhygienic measure, dirt can cause serious technical problems in the device. To clean the keyboard, it is possible to use only a clean and thin brush, which must be passed between the keys. Another option is to use a cotton swab and push the dirt out, being careful not to damage any keys.
